Frustrations about Online Hotel Deals
A recent poll conducted by Hotelscombined.com found that out of their 1,528 users from US, Canada, UK, and Australia, 25% of them are frustrated about the high hidden taxes and fees about almost all hotel online bookings. Travelers next frustration is that most hotel deals online have unclear and restricting cancellation policies.
Because of increasing consumer preference, Orbitz recently went with a "total price hotel search results" and their search results now displays all-inclusive price.
If I had answered that survey, I would have said the same thing. I remember my first experience booking a hotel online, I thought I really got a cheap deal until I paid with my credit card and saw the total price that I had paid. I hope all online hotel booking websites would adop Orbitz's policy and just display the all-inclusive price of their hotel deals.
