The purpose of traveling to other countries is to discover new things about different cultures and places. That's why I seldom bring any electronic gadgets, aside from my mobile phone, when traveling. I'm afraid that I'll get too wrapped up playing my PSP or surfing the Internet that I won't be able to enjoy the scenery.

However, there are times when you're ahead of your itinerary schedule, you want to watch movies but you're in a foreign country and your hotel doesn't have cable or if it does, it doesn't have any decent movie channels, only payperview which you have to spend a lot of money on just to watch a movie. You have your laptop and you have free internet access so what do you do? Here are just some websites on the Internet you can visit to kill time.

1. YouTube - If you haven't heard of YouTube, where have you been living all these years? You can visit a lot of user generated videos or just watch trailers, commercials, vidcasts, etc. There are literally thousands of videos you can watch here.

2. Online Games - If you haven't installed any games on your laptop or you have a netbook and installing games is not an option, there are a lot of online arcade games you can visit. Yahoogames is one and just search google for flash based games and you'll have thousands of online games to entertain you.

3. Read the News - There's CNN.com, Times.com, etc. Keep updated on what's going on in your country even though your thousands of miles away.
