Clothes Size in Different Countries

I get perpetually confused by the sizes of clothes in different countries. In my country, I'm ranging from large to medium but when I try on clothes in other countries, I become  a size "small". Of course I'm elated but now when I'm shopping online, I don't know what size to fill out. Last time I shopped at the Esprit store in Hong Kong, my waistline changed (no, I'm not going to reveal it here what's my waistline!).

Anyways, going back to sizes, I was shopping around at simplybe.co.uk, and I would really love to buy a Rubiks cube jersey top that I've seen on their store. It's cute and trendy and seems something that I would wear. The problem is that the store seems to only carry plus size clothing and the smallest size they have is a size 14. So, I'm thinking if a size 14 would fit me or would that be too large? I haven't actually traveled to the UK to see first hand their clothing sizes but shopping at a local Top Shop store here doesn't help since like I've mentioned, the clothes size locally, even if they're labled UK 10 or UK 12 is different when I shop at a Top Shop store in Hong Kong or other Asian countries wherein a UK size 10 is bigger.

It would be nice if all countries come together and just have a standard size, like an international metric system or something. But until then we just have to rely on clothes size conversion websites.
