Itineraries or not?
This post from Cool Travel Guide Got me thinking about my use of itineraries. While I do create my own itineraries which are well researched using Google, I don't usually use Itineraries from Travel magazines or books. However, whether the itinerary is my own or not, I really couldn't stick with it.
Our recent travel to Hong Kong goes to show that when you're traveling with a good friend or your sister who loves to shop, itineraries mean squat. The one hour you've allotted to visiting Tung Chung would balloon to two and a half hours because you spent a great amount of time looking at the outlet stores.
Next time, maybe I should be a bit more strict when it comes to itineraries. There are some good spots that we failed to see because we spent all our time shopping. Or maybe a good solution would just stay away from places with shopping areas!
