If you're traveling and you want to travel light, there was probably a time when you had to choose whether to bring your Video camera or digital camera. Some of you might think that the easy answer would be your video camera as you can take a lot of action shots and most video cameras have the ability to take still photos.

Well, for me, my choice would have to be just a digital camera. I've been bringing my video camera with me during my past travels and I let my companions do all the still shots with their own digital cameras. I have to say that I was so busy trying to shoot all the surroundings, making sure that I don't miss anything that I forgot to take in the surroundings and just appreciate it with my own eyes rather than through the lenses. There's a huge difference between taking in a breath taking view with your own eyes and just looking at it through your camera. Now ,whenever I see videos of my past travels, I could hardly remember the actual moment or what it was like to be there in person. Yes, my family who saw my videos appreciate it but I wasted time shooting videos that I forgot to enjoy my travel which is the purpose of my traveling in the first place.

So take it from me, next time, if you're visiting a new place, just take your digital camera with you and if it's your second time visiting the place, then that's the time you should bring your video camera.
