Traveling with Gift-wrapped boxes
I will be going back to Hong Kong this Febrary to visit some relatives. Now I Hong Kong is one of my favorite cities and maybe I'll get in some shopping in between. Anyways, one of my relatives informed me that they will be asking me to bring some gift-wrapped items back home and it got be wondering whether gift-wrapped items are allowed in airports.
My boss who traveled to Macau last year said that they bought home some gift wrapped items and the airport security allowed them to do so without opening the items. Now I know that everything you carry is passed through the xray machines at the airport so maybe they do allow gift-wrapped items since they would probably know what the items are in the first place.
Oh well, if they don't allow me I guess I have to gift wrap it myself when I get back.
