Dengue Outbreak in Southeast Asia

If you're planning a visit to South East Asia, better hold it off until the Dengue outbreak cools down. Dengue fever is a mosquito born viral disease. While it is common in many tropical countries, there are outbreaks or increase in Dengue incidents whenever the typhoon season comes, usually around July or August.

According to the World Health Organization, the number of Dengue cases increased in Thailand, Indonesia, and Myanmar, compared to last year. Dengue Fever could very well lead to death if not treated immediately. Symptoms are very similar to flu which includes, headaches, fever, muscle pains, and rashes.

If you need to be in these places during this time, it is strongly recommeded that you get a comprehensive travel and medical insurance.
