If you're wondering where to go in Asia, here's my top three list depending on what kind of vacation you need.

Thailand - this is definitely the best choice if you're looking to get some tan or if you want to find the best beaches. There are a lot of beaches in Phuket plus your $$ will take you a long way considering the exchange rate. Thailand has been featured in many Hollywood movies because of its picturesque coastline.

Japan - If you're traveling for culture and shopping, Japan is the place to go. The only downside is that not a lot of people speak English so you have to be patient when trying to ask for directions. Some Japanese electronics might not work in your home country but you can visit a lot of historical places here. The other downside is that Japan has a very high cost of living so if you're looking for a budget travel, might try looking elsewhere.

Hong Kong - the ultimate shopping destination in Asia. You can find cheap electronics here plus cheap designer goods. Try visiting in September when they have their huge September Sale. All of the shops in Nathan road would have marked down their prices. Hong Kong is not only a place for shopping, you can find a lot of museums and temples to visit. A short ferry trip will take you to Macau so you can see a good blending of East meets West.
